The Barnes Lake Conservancy is a grassroots group of neighbors committed to the preservation of Barnes Lake, a significant wildlife refuge in the heart of an emerging metropolitan area.
The Conservancy is a non-profit organization that raises funds for education, advocacy and other work to improve the health of the lake and public appreciation of the lake's many important benefits.
The Conservancy is a complement to the Barnes Lake Management District (BLMD), a governmental authority established in 2004 that is managed by a Steering Committee of 7 citizens. The BLMD is the operational arm of lake restoration activities, and is funded by assessments paid by all Barnes Lake shoreline owners.
